Extendable Ladder

Looking for an extendable ladder?  The type of extendable ladder you get is going to depend on if you are a professional or if you’re just an average home owner looking for a simple ladder.  If you are a pro, you might opt for a ladder that has more features and might wind up being a bit more heavy, however as a home owner, you may be satisfied with something more simple and less features.

There are a lot of things to consider when getting your extendable ladder such as the above points and to help you make a better, more informed decision, we’re going to go over a few of your options right here:

1.  Xtend & Climb 770 Aluminum Telescoping Ladder Type II with Aluminum Coupling, 12-1/2-Foot

This is a great telescoping ladder that can easily extend and lock every foot up to 12.5 feet.  All of this can be achieved from a small base of only 31.9”.  This is a great portable and compact design that can be carried around anywhere and easily stored in the trunk of your car or a closet.

This is made of 6061 Aloy and weighs in at 25 pounds, it is able to support up to 250 pounds.  This is a great product especially for it’s compact nature and ease of use, perfect for the home owner, it’s a 12 ladder that easily fits in the back of a car, brilliant.

There are a few issues to watch out for though, when closing it, watch your fingers, you can pinch them if you’re not careful.  Also the bottom of the ladder would do better to be made of a softer material so that it would grip the ground better, you might get nervous using this on hardwood flooring.

2.  Werner D1324-2 250-Pound Duty Rating Aluminum Flat D-Rung Extension Ladder, 24-Foot

Now here’s a much bigger extendable ladder with interlocking heavy I-beam rails, slip resistant traction, tred D-rungs and spring loaded locks.  This can support up to 250 pounds and weighs in at 32 pounds, light enough to move around easy.

This one may not be as portable as it is not telescoping, but it has a long reach and will work great for cleaning out the gutters on your roof.

This one is a great value for the price ($244.93).  It is rated 4.5/5 stars by 10 customers so it is definitely a popular choice you should consider.

In the end, when picking up an extendable ladder, you need to ask yourself what you value.  Do you want length, or do you want portability and a ladder that is compact and light?   These are 2 great examples of both extremes, both are great, but it really depends on what you need the ladder for.
